“Escher” vest was created from a dream… A dream I had after I became interested in the idea of transformation. The changes that occur in life, through places, through time & through love.
Maurits Cornelis Escher was a Dutch artist who made mathematically inspired woodcuts, lithographs, and mezzotints. His artwork is a representation of “transformation” from fishes to birds, never-ending stairs & uncommon prespectives. His art is really inspiring.
The yarn I used, Hiraeth, forms part of “Los Sincronistas” collection developed by Alpacas El Camino.
Hiraeth represents nostalgia. Nostalgia of your home, a loved one or even of a feeling.
The vest is knitted seamless, with a rectangular construction that combines a very simple garter stitch & an interesting design that is magically transformed into a different design.
The pattern is size-inclusive and flattering to all body types.
“Escher” is a seamless vest, with the most simplest of structures…. a simple rectangular shape with inserted armholes.
To keep the knit interesting, the back & left front incorporates two patterns of twisted stitches that magically transform one to another.
The construction of the vest allows for an easy transformation into a jacket by elongating the sleeves into the desired lenght (instructions for this are included in the sleeves section).
